Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Yard Auditor with a valid Class A CDL to support our yard operations. This role involves maneuvering trailers, conducting audits, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The Yard Auditor plays a critical role in maintaining an organized and efficient yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine audits of trailers, containers, and yard inventory to verify documentation accuracy and placement
- Cross-check records with physical inventory using SAP systems to identify discrepancies and ensure real-time updates
- Report findings and discrepancies to the appropriate department and recommend resolutions
- Maintain accurate logs of all trailers and containers entering, leaving, or stored in the yard
- Generate detailed reports on audit findings, including trends and areas for improvement
- Conduct visual inspections of the yard to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with operational standards
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations
- Perform pre-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and maintain maintenance records
- Respond to emergencies according to established protocols
- Follow environmental guidelines and properly store hazardous materials
- Maintain clear communication with team members and provide shift change briefings
- Assist in training staff on documentation procedures, company policies, and SAP system usage
- Identify and suggest improvements to yard operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Clean MVR
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Minimum 3 years of verified Class A driving experience (local, regional, or OTR)
- Minimum 1 year of verified spotter/jockey experience in a logistics environment preferred
- Ability to report for duty on short notice and work flexible hours as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Schedule
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Occasional flexibility may be required to support operational needs
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
