- Assign and schedule print jobs, balancing workload across staff and equipment.
- Provide guidance on design, production, duplication, and cost.
- Maintain records of charges, billing, and estimates for work not included in the digital storefront.
- Manage equipment upgrades, replacements, and vendor contracts, including bid processes.
- Operate and oversee use of digital and traditional print shop equipment.
- Ensure effective use of workflow systems, applications, and digital software.
- Stay current with new developments in printing technology.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate Print Center staff.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Foster a respectful and customer-focused environment.
- Prepare and monitor the Print Center budget.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and materials, including purchasing and vendor management.
- Participate in required district training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.
- Associate’s degree in printing technology, graphic communications, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a print or production environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of digital and offset print production processes, print management systems, and software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices related to print operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in printing technology, graphic communications, business management, or a related field.
- 5 or more years of experience in print operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor contract negotiation.
- Ability to implement workflow efficiencies, cost-saving strategies, and process improvements.
- Knowledge of emerging digital printing technologies, finishing equipment, and workflow automation tools.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level financial and purchasing systems, particularly in an educational or public-sector environment.

Position Summary: The Print Center Supervisor provides leadership and management of Fargo Public Schools’ Print Center. This role oversees daily operations, supervises staff, manages equipment and supplies, ensures cost-effective production, and delivers high-quality print services to support the educational mission of the district.

Freedom to Act
The incumbent performs tasks under the direction of the Director of Information Technology and responds to day-to-day needs, answer questions, and responds to emergent issues. Non-emergent issues are discussed with the Director of Information Technology. The incumbent takes the initiative to ensure completion of all tasks and will adjust priorities to accommodate competing workload demands. All employees must comply with department and institution procedures and policies, Fargo Public School policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and business and industry standards.
