Description

Position Objective

At Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia(“HFHP”), we are builders who work alongside, not for others. We are driven by accountability and defined by our stick-to itiveness. The ReStore Truck Driver picks up and unloads donations for the ReStore in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner. They represent the HFHP brand through courteous interactions with potential donors and customers to support our mission and support ReStore operations.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and efficient movement of donations; delivering quick and quality service.
  • Work with the ReStore leadership team to ensure donations are placed and ready for processing.
  • Communicate the status of pickups to customers, dispatchers, and warehouse supervisors as needed to ensure great customer service.
  • Load and unload merchandise routinely at multiple sites.
  • Record and maintain donation receipt pick-up slips
  • Stack, pad, and secure items in position on the truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Utilize and store dollies or carts for the safe transport of donations.
  • Maintain our trucks and equipment in optimum condition
  • Clean around the surrounding the ReStore -dumpster, backyard, etc. - so the area is free of debris.
  • Work in the ReStore on days when truck pickups are on a modified schedule, unavailable or as needed by the ReStore manager.
  • Maintain and adhere to the company’s health and safety requirements.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications


Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience driving box trucks in the Philadelphia Metro area.
  • At least three years without any vehicle infractions.
  • Must be professional in appearance and comply with the HFHP dress code
  • Willingness to act as a good ambassador of the HFHP brand
  • Ability to to partner and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish, foster, and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Team Player who is wililng to and is able to help in the warehouse and sales floor as needed.
  • Must demonstrate safety awareness in vehicles and use of equipment
  • Able to do heavy lifting up to 100 pounds.
