The Water Meter Supervisor oversees the installation, maintenance, reading, testing, and repair of water meters to ensure accurate measurement and billing. This position manages meter technicians and staff, coordinates daily field operations, and ensures compliance with utility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The supervisor plays a key role in improving efficiency, supporting customer service, and maintaining the integrity of the utility’s metering system.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Proven Leadership Skills – Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and motivate field staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and safety.
• Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of water meter systems, installation, maintenance, and testing procedures, with familiarity in AMR/AMI technology and meter data management.
• Problem-Solving Ability – Skilled at diagnosing meter issues, resolving discrepancies, and providing practical solutions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Customer Service Orientation – Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff, handle escalated service concerns, and maintain professionalism in difficult situations.
• Organizational Skills – Capable of managing multiple priorities, scheduling staff efficiently, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Regulatory & Safety Awareness – Knowledge of water utility regulations, safety practices, and compliance requirements.
• Experience – Several years of experience in water meter operations or utility fieldwork, with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Adaptability – Open to learning and implementing new technologies, methods, and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
