Position Summary
The Financial Reporting Specialist assists in the preparation of the Agency's quarterly interim and annual financial reports, quarterly information statements, and other regulatory reporting requirements. This role also supports the preparation of annual audit reports, audit packages, and compliance submissions, including but not limited to MIF, OPEB, and Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF). The Financial Reporting Specialist serves as a liaison with external auditors for annual audits and quarterly reviews, managing the coordination of audit packages and supporting documents. As a shared resource within the Financial Reporting department, this position provides additional support to the Assistant Comptroller and Comptroller as needed. This position reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

MassHousing operates under a hybrid work model; therefore, employees are expected to work on-site according to a schedule determined in collaboration with their manager and based on the needs of the role. To support effective onboarding, new employees may be required to work in the office more frequently during their first 90 days.
Essential Functions
Annual & Quarterly Reporting
- Assist in compiling the Agency's Annual Report, yearly audit reports, and regulatory submissions
- Support the preparation of the Quarterly Interim Financial Report and Information Statements
- Research and compile data to develop charts and supporting schedules for financial statement notes and supplemental schedules
Budget & Financial Planning
- Support the Senior Financial Reporting Specialist in gathering and consolidating information for the Agency's annual cash basis budget
- Collect data from all divisions to prepare specialized ad hoc budget reports
Regulatory Reporting
- Support the preparation of the quarterly Mortgage Bankers Financial Reporting Form (MBFRF)
- Assist with annual compliance reporting for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae
- Contribute to the preparation of additional regulatory reports as required
Security
- Comply with MassHousing's Information Security Program and all other Agency information security policies and procedures
- Take responsibility for any Agency assets assigned to you
- Promptly report any security events, incidents, or weaknesses to MassHousing's Information Security Team
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in a large financial institution, nationally recognized credit review organization, or CPA firm
- Sound knowledge of financial and accounting processes, specifically budgeting and reporting
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulations
- Eligibility to work in, and travel freely to and from, the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience with mortgage lending and financial service activities
- Housing finance industry knowledge
- CPA qualification

Salary Range: $86,572.50 - $112,544.25
