Role Summary
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all tasks are performed safely, in alignment with Gestamp’s commitment to a drug-free workplace and ADA guidelines. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and comply with all safety regulations.
• Preventive & Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on stamping presses, production machines, and plant facilities during scheduled downtime or as needed.
• Emergency Repairs & Troubleshooting: Support emergency and unscheduled repairs during production. Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and make necessary adjustments to restore equipment functionality.
• Mechanical & Technical Skills: Utilize a broad range of skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair. Read manuals and work orders, and operate tools and equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and electric meters.
• Facility & Equipment Upkeep: Refurbish and repair in-house equipment (e.g., cylinders, pumps, conveyors), perform plumbing and carpentry tasks when required, and report any faulty operations or defective materials to supervisors.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Microsoft Office Proficiency: Skilled in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint for documentation, communication, and reporting.
• Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and AC motors.
• Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components used in industrial machinery.
• Fabrication & Maintenance Skills: Basic experience in fabrication, welding, plumbing, and conveyor systems maintenance.
• Tool & Equipment Handling: Capable of using various tools and equipment to support repair and maintenance tasks.
Knowledge and Education
• 2 + years industrial maintenance experience in automotive industry – (preferably metal stamping).
• PLC knowledge is a plus

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
• Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
