The Madison Chatham Coalition (MCC) is seeking a motivated and organized Project Coordinator to support our mission of preventing underage substance use and promoting healthy choices for youth in our community. This 25-hour-per-week position reports to the Coalition Director and plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations of this federally funded prevention initiative, overseeing everything from coordinating youth-led programs and community trainings to engaging stakeholders and ensuring smooth operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator, reporting to the Madison Chatham Coalition Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Madison Chatham Coalition, federally funded underage substance use prevention agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the creation, scheduling, marketing, and implementation of all activities and trainings including MCC’s youth arm, the Teen Task Force
- Engages youth for focus groups and responsible for the data collection, information dissemination and evaluation
- Responsible for recruiting new members of the Coalition and managing existing relationships
- Tracks in-kind/ expenses on monthly basis
- Maintains Coalition website and social media channels
- With support from Coalition Financial Manager and Director, manages Coalition expenses
PHILANTHROPY:
All YMCA staff are accountable for understanding the organization’s charitable status and mission to assure access for all through active participation in fundraising and philanthropy efforts
- Work with the Development Team, HR and key philanthropy volunteers to increase your understanding and skill set.
- Train, mentor, equip and hold your staff accountable for participating in the annual campaign by identifying and recruiting member volunteers and soliciting donations.
- Build strategic relationships with members for year round member cultivation to increase the number of member campaign volunteers and donors.
- Assist to achieve annual support campaign department goal by directly and personally participating in campaign efforts and ongoing fundraising by identifying new volunteers and potential new donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, 1-3 years experience in the substance abuse prevention and or related mental health fields.
- Familiarity with the community served.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Suite and phone skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
- Position requires bending, leaning, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency, may have exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
- Ability to work non-traditional work schedule, including evenings and weekends when required.
