Salary: $105,000 - $144,000 annually

Larson Automotive Group is seeking a proven Automotive Controller to oversee and elevate the financial operations of our dealership group. This role is more than managing numbers—it’s about leading people, shaping processes, and ensuring the financial strength that drives our continued success.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide accurate and timely monthly financial statements that meet both dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Analyze results and deliver insights that shape strategic decisions at the executive level.
  • Oversee reconciliations for manufacturer statements, warranty claims, incentives, rebates, floorplan accounts, and receivables.
  • Guide cash flow by managing contracts in transit, monitoring vehicle receivables, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain accountability for the general ledger, schedules, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20–22 administrative professionals with three supervisors, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and respect.
  • Partner with department managers and executive leadership to align financial strategy with operational success.

  

What You Bring

  • Proven track record as an Automotive Accounting Manager or Controller in a retail dealership environment.
  • Expertise in dealership accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Strong leadership presence—you inspire confidence, earn trust, and drive results.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with peers and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in dealership accounting systems (experience with DMS software a strong plus).

Time Off & Holidays

Paid Time Off (PTO):

                 o Accrual begins on your first day.

                          0–2 years: 1 hour per 40 hours worked

                          3–10 years: 1.53 hours per 40 hours worked

                          10+ years: 2.30 hours per 40 hours worked

Requirements

 

  • Prior experience in retail automotive dealership accounting management is required.
  • Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, general ledger accounting, and manufacturer reporting.
  • Experience managing cash flow, floor plan reconciliation, and tax computations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems (DMS).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
