Housekeeping Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping Location: Bridgeton, NJ

This full time non-exempt position under the supervision of the Deputy Director, Operations oversees the performance of all basic cleaning requirements for the facility housekeeping needs essential to the health and welfare of all occupants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Developing and maintaining cleaning plans to followed by selected residents;
  • Supervising residents performing all general housekeeping inside and ground keeping outside the facility;
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies for general use;
  • Maintaining associated equipment maintenance;
  • Ensuring that all areas, including offices, classrooms, lounges, dormitories, bathrooms, and utility rooms meet company sanitation standards;
  • Providing instructions for residential sanitary living practices,
  • Supervising linen distribution and pick up on schedule; and
  • Performing light relevant facility maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to:

  • Plan, organize and implement a facility housekeeping program;
  • Routinely inventory supplies and inspect equipment;
  • Effectively supervise selected work crews in the performance of their duties;
  • Communicate effectively with facility management;
  • Adequately represent the Company to suppliers;
  • Meet and maintain contracting agency clearance requirements;
  • Understand and comply with standards for issuing supplies and cleaning equipment to residents;
  • Establish & maintain effective working relationships co-workers, management and residents;
  • Manage time and multiple tasks;
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance pattern;
  • Meet the physical requirements, i. e. sit, stand, stoop, walk, lift and bend;
  • Understand and follow relevant OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as required by the Deputy Director, Operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED in addition to a working knowledge of relevant OSHA standards and commercial housekeeping experience and/or relevant advanced training required. Experience with industrial floor care and use of related equipment also required.
