We are excited to offer a $1,000 hiring bonus for this position! The bonus will be paid upon the successful completion of the Manager in Training (MIT) program and after six (6) months of continuous full-time employment. To be eligible, employees must be in good standing, meeting attendance and performance expectations, and must be actively employed at the time of payout. Employees with active disciplinary actions or who fail to maintain satisfactory performance or attendance may forfeit eligibility.

 

Job Summary:

The Manager in Training (MIT) program is designed to develop future Retail Sales Managers at True Legacy Homes. As an MIT, you will gain hands-on experience in estate sales operations, team management, and customer service. Under the guidance of a Retail Sales Manager, you will learn how to lead a team, drive sales, and create a seamless shopping experience for customers.

As an Estate Sale Team Member, you will work in a unique and dynamic environment where no two days—or houses—are ever the same. Each week, you will be assigned to a different estate, preparing the home for sale by staging, organizing, and pricing items, and then assisting in hosting the sale for the public. Some estates are clean and straightforward to stage, while others may require more effort and creativity to prepare. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying household conditions. Work sites may, on occasion, involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, loud noise, or household chemicals. If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and being part of a team that transforms each home into a professional sales environment, this is the right role for you.

Upon successful completion of the MIT program, you will have the opportunity to advance into a Retail Sales Manager role, where you will lead your own sales team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

§  Assist in managing estate sale events, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.

§  Support the Retail Sales Manager in team supervision, training, and performance management.

§  Engage with customers, provide product knowledge, and ensure a positive shopping experience.

§  Help with merchandising, inventory organization, and overall store presentation.

§  Work closely with the Donation Team and Movers to facilitate seamless estate transitions.

§  Uphold company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

 

Requirements:

 

§  Valid Class C driver’s license.

§  Open availability (including weekends and holidays) to meet retail business needs.

§  Verifiable 2 years or more experience in a retail or hospitality setting is required.

§  Strong leadership potential with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

§  Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

§  Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.

§  Ability to communicate in English.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

§  High school diploma or equivalent.

§  Previous supervisory experience in a retail or hospitality setting preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

§  Frequent travel within the county and occasionally to neighboring counties.

§  Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and standing.

§  Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs.

§  Bending, stooping, climbing ladders or stairs.

§  Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, fingers, and upper body.

§  Ability to see and read computer screens, small electronic devices, and maps.

§  Ability to detect specific noises for proper equipment operation.

§  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
