Functional Description:
DDG is seeking an Academic Policy and Educational Support Specialist to support the Dean of Academics at the U. S. Marine Corps College of Distance Education and Training (CDET). The position will be on site in Government provided space at Marine Corps University, Quantico VA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as an executive assistant to the Dean of Academics.
- Coordinate the development of master’s degree level academic administrative and educational policy with the Dean of Academics, the Associate Deans, Regional Chief Instructors (RCIs) and CDET Headquarters personnel.
- Assist the Dean of Academics in the preparations of any JPME Phase I requirements such as OBME milestone briefings, OBME oriented reports, or J7 JPME requests for information.
- Establish enterprise-wide blended seminar program (BSP) schedules in accordance with CDET guidelines.
- Provide training input plan (TIP) support for all BSPs in conjunction with CDET, MCU, and TECOM guidelines.
- Track and provide educational expertise support to answer DoNTracker/Higher Headquarters taskers in close coordination with the Dean of Academics, the Associate Deans, and CDET Headquarters personnel.
- Support with the creation and coordination of the CDET faculty development workshop schedule and events.
- Assist in maintaining the currency of the Academic site within CDET’s LMS and/or other established repository.
- Participate in ad-hoc meetings providing advice applicable to the above services.
Required Experience:
- Five years of relative university experience.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Experience and skill working in a dynamic team environment including the use of a collaborative workspace/software (MS Teams, SharePoint, Adobe).
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balancing scheduled support (e.g., BSP and TIP scheduling, policy review/revision) and other support requests (e.g. DoNTracker tasks, ad hoc requirements).
- Military or DOD experience or familiarity.
Desired Experience:
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., Moodle).
Education Requirements:
Master’s degree in education or military/strategic studies.
