About the Department
This position is responsible for enforcing the Zoning Ordinances and Shoreland Zoning Ordinances for Walworth County as they pertain to short-term rentals.
SCHEDULE
Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Hours Per Shift: 4
Shifts Per Pay Period: varies

Position Duties
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Perform on-site inspections, often outside of traditional office hours.
Maintain open lines of communication with all agency staff.
Draft correspondence regarding general code requirements, code interpretations, violation orders, etc.
Issue ordinance violation citations and testify in trials.
Respond to questions from the public via the telephone and in person.
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required with previous experience in law enforcement, code enforcement or related field. Current certification as a Law Enforcement Officer by the State of Wisconsin preferred. Proven experience with legal terminology as it relates to interpretation of codes. Previous experience working with legal, regulatory, law enforcement and technical terminology required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Driver's License.
Proof of minimum liability auto insurance coverage.
