Job Description:

 The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities for direct and indirect materials and services at the facility. This includes managing the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in SAP, leading a team of buyers, and ensuring supplier performance meets company standards for cost, quality, and delivery. This role plays a key part in building strong supplier relationships, supporting production requirements, and enabling efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all direct and indirect procurement activities to support manufacturing, facilities, and project requirements.
  • Lead and develop a team of buyers, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Own the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in SAP for the Tracy facility:
    • Purchase requisition conversion
    • Purchase order creation
    • Supplier communication and acknowledgments
    • PO change management
    • Invoice resolution support with Accounts Payable
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term agreements where applicable.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or service issues in coordination with operations and quality teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standard terms and conditions, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with other company locations and corporate supply chain leadership to align sourcing strategies and leverage volume where applicable.
  • Support and drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery performance.
  • Provide procurement reporting and KPIs (on-time delivery, cost savings, supplier performance, etc.).
  • Stay informed of market trends and supplier developments impacting materials and services used by the facility.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay process and procurement best practices.
  • Experience with SAP or comparable ERP system required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other procurement tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with supplier risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with developing and implementing supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost analysis and budgeting.

Work Environment:

  • This is an onsite role at a manufacturing facility located in Tracy, CA.
  • The role involves working in both an office environment and periodically on the production floor or in the warehouse to engage with operations, suppliers, and materials.
  • Regular interaction with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.
  • Occasional travel to supplier locations, other company facilities, or industry events may be required.
  • Standard business hours apply; however, flexibility is expected to support production schedules and urgent procurement needs.
Additional Information:

The Salary Range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 annual base salary + annual performance bonus. We also off the following benefits:
