Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading local hunger-relief organization in the state with locations in Milwaukee and Appleton. Founded in 1982 by the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is a local and independent member of the Feeding America network. Driven by our mission to solve hunger, we are bringing more people together around the table to collaboratively address the root causes of hunger. Together with our network partners, we serve nearly half a million food-insecure people across 35 counties in eastern Wisconsin each year. 


JOB PURPOSE:

  

The Partnership Coordinator is a relationship and compliance role that is critical to customer service, food distribution, resource generation and community engagement. This role is accountable for enriching and growing our relationship(s) with our network agencies, partner programs, retail, wholesale and distributor donors. The Partnership Coordinator tracks sourcing of all food and non-food product in collaboration with local retail stores, distribution centers, and pantry/program partners. The Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for researching, cultivating, and stewarding new and current retail food donor relationships in pursuit of our mission. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

  • Develop and execute a county engagement strategy that focuses on indicators of: member capacity, clients served, meals distributed and compliance.
  • Strategically recruit new network partners and process applications in support of the county engagement strategy. Orient and assist new partners in accessing FAEW resources.
  • Conduct partner site visits to ensure proper food handling, storage, sanitation, preparation standards, and compliance with FAEW’s monitoring requirements via documentation and on-site inspection. 
  • Create and routinely implement a store development program including electronic and in-person visits.
  • Customize store donation toolkits to use when visiting stores in each retail chain.
  • Implement the organization’s Fresh Stop program in collaboration with Operations Team.
  • Identify and establish new Direct Connect donors and network partners/programs.
  • Support and monitor Direct Connect partnerships through scheduled site visits, coordinated store visits, and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Work with Operations to ensure stores are following donation guidelines. Troubleshoot issues between donors, drivers and Direct Connect agencies. 
  • Maintain weekly and monthly “Key Performance Metrics” and other data documentation.
  • Update and maintain a key contact database for all assigned stores and Partner agency database to reflect accurate records and generate reports. 
  • Become familiar with “Blue receipt” process.
  • Support retail campaigns for stores participating in program. 
  • Work with Communications team to recognize retailers, i.e. newsletter, website or direct mail.
  • Research and pursue in-kind donations when possible.
  • Learn sections of Primarius related to retail sourcing.
  • Assist Program Resource Manager with execution of special program projects, as needed.
  • Promote marketing of FAEW products and programs to network partners. 
  • Participate in the state and local community events, as needed. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  

  • Commitment to understand and support FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes.
  • Respect for the people FAEW serves and commitment to learn the causes of their food insecurity and need.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university is preferred. 
  • Prior work experience with nonprofit organizations.
  • Ability to efficiently travel to communities within and outside of Milwaukee County.
  • Understanding of FAEW’s distribution system. 
  • Must be comfortable addressing groups of 10 or more.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and database programs.
  • Proficient in using order and inventory management databases, such as Primarius.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work safely following FAEW safety procedures.
  • Ability to see, talk and hear to exchange accurate information with internal and external individuals.
  • Ability to use keyboard, manipulate objects or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be open-minded of differing opinions and views.
  • A positive, team-oriented mindset with a "can-do" approach to supporting the organization, demonstrating cross-functional collaboration and a focus on developing solutions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance that meets Feeding America’s liability requirements and transportation to travel to work sites.
  • Ability to work safely following FAEW safety procedures.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
