Substitute Teachers and Substitute Paraeducators
The Hampstead School District, located in Southern N.H. is seeking substitute paraeducators and substitute teachers to work in our elementary school (pre-K through grade 4) and middle school (grade 5 through 8) as needed. Successful candidates will be granted access to our online absence management system to browse and accept assignments as advertised. Enjoy the ability to set your own schedule!
QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Teacher Subs
Substitute teachers are responsible for managing the classroom and daily duties of the absent teacher. Function in accordance with School District Policies and Procedures.
At least two full years of college coursework completed for a minimum 60 credits earned or Associates Degree is required. NH teaching certification from the NHDOE is desirable.
Paraeducator Subs
Substitute paraeducators assist and support the classroom teacher and/or special education students with educational activities and non-teaching tasks. Function in accordance with School District Policies and Procedures.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. NH paraeducator certification from the NHDOE is desirable.
Terms of Employment
Temporary positions no employee benefits
Wages set forth by the Hampstead School Board
Daily and hourly rates with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch as applicable

♦ your cover letter of interest
♦ a list of three individuals for your professional references with contact information including email addresses and telephone numbers
and one of the following for a total of three points of professional reference presentation in any combination
♦ three recent letters of recommendation from three different individuals
or,
♦ less than three recent letters of recommendation and written permission granting Human Resources to conduct up to three professional reference checks to make up the difference. Permission may be granted by including such in your cover letter of interest or on the application itself.
Recommendation letters don't have to be on formal letterhead when not reasonably practicable, therefore email messages converted to PDF format for uploading are acceptable. Sub interviews are generally once a month on a designated day from September through June; applicants who submit completed applications with required materials will be invited to the SAU Central Office in Hampstead to discuss candidacy and qualifications.
Interview Schedule: Afternoons of the third Wednesday each month beginning September through June. (Subject to change as needed.)
