Staff Development Manager
Position Summary:
The Staff Development Manager supports and monitors staff training and development in support of district staff development initiatives.
Essential Duties:
Great Teaching & Learning (Instructional Infrastructure):
- ?Trains and assists other district leaders in creating and delivering effective training content.
- Identifies resources for professional development opportunities for teachers holding temporary teaching certifications (emergency, bootcamp, alternative)
- Creates and delivers training for emergency certified and adjunct teachers.
Great People (Talent Management):
- Creates and delivers training as needed in support of district initiatives
- Develops individual professional growth plans for and provides guidance to emergency, alternative, bootcamp, adjunct, and other temporarily certified teachers regarding professional development and education opportunities to facilitate obtaining a standard Oklahoma teaching certificate.
- Assists with the coordination and execution of staff onboarding.
- Tracks, compiles, analyzes, and reports on data related to teachers with other than standard certification.
Great Culture (Systems Leaders):
- Coordinates the selection, placement, record keeping, and development opportunities for teachers participating in the Oklahoma Teacher Empowerment Program (OTEP) and teacher mentorship programs.
- Collaborates with the Foundation for OKCPS to manage teacher pipeline programs, including recruitment, placement, progress monitoring, development, and celebration of participants.
- Acts as liaison with the Foundation for OKCPS to coordinate the Teacher of the Year program.
- Acts as a liaison between Talent Management and Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Learning teams.
Great Systems (Support & Accountability):
- Collaborates with leaders and administrators to identify training and development solutions to address performance deficiencies and learning gaps.
- Compiles and analyzes employee data to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Educational Leadership, or related field required.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in training and development and/or coordinating Teacher Leader Effectiveness
Comprehensive knowledge of state teacher and leader evaluation policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences in both written and verbal formats
Experience in educational coaching, consulting, and or training.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
Master's degree
OK teaching certificate
*Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore, for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
Work Environment:
Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.
Will require time in office, as well as external meeting locations with community partners or schools throughout the OKC metro area.
May require participation in meetings and activities outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
Able to bend and stoop, lift 25lbs, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
