About Focus On Renewal:
The Focus On Renewal Sto-Rox Neighborhood Corporation (FOR) was founded in 1969. FOR founders led a group of mobilized citizens and community activists to create an umbrella organization for much needed social services now ranging from food security, nutrition, early childhood education, support groups and mental health to arts programs for ages and small business incubation. FOR has now grown to house 30+ staff at four locations throughout McKees Rocks and Stowe Township. The Organization provides support to the people in our neighborhood through programs for all ages designed to develop resilient, contributing members of a thriving community. We work with a wide range of partners to ensure high quality programming is accessible to all 13,000 residents of the Sto-Rox Community.
About the Position:
Summary:
The Library Circulation Coordinator assists the Library Director with all aspects of circulation services within the library, ensuring efficient and effective operations. They are responsible for assisting in implementing circulation policies, maintaining accurate records of library materials, and providing excellent customer service to library patrons. Additionally, the Circulation Coordinator collaborates with library staff to enhance user experiences and optimize library resources.
Responsibilities:
Circulation Services:
- Provide support with circulation desk operations, including check-in, check-out, renewals, reserves, and interlibrary loans.
- Maintain circulation statistics and generate reports as needed for library administration.
Collection Management:
- Ensure timely processing of new materials and removal of outdated items.
- Monitor the condition of library materials and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Assist in the inventory process to ensure the accuracy of the library's collection.
Technology and Systems Administration:
- Assist Director in implementation and maintenance of circulation software and hardware systems.
- Troubleshoot circulation-related technology issues and collaborate with EIN network for resolution.
- Stay informed about emerging library technologies and recommend updates or enhancements to circulation systems.
User Services and Outreach:
- Provide frontline assistance to library patrons, including answering inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with technology usage.
- Develop and deliver training sessions or workshops for patrons on library services and resources.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with all library staff to coordinate services and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Communicate circulation policies and update through various channels, such as signage, newsletters, and social media.
- Collaborate with outreach staff to promote circulation services and engage with the community through programs and events.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in circulation services or a related library position
- Strong knowledge of library circulation principles, practices, and technologies.
- Proficiency in using library management systems and related software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
