Description,Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Overview: Columbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers in Franklin County, Ohio.The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a key role in driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with potential customers, partners, and accounts in all of our territories. This position requires a proactive, relationship-focused approach to uncovering new business opportunities and educating prospects on our products/services.
- Sample accounts on current products, and keep them informed on upcoming brands and trends
- Assist with selling additional THC/Nicotine features and specials
- In market team sells with THC/Nicotine suppliers and also the ability to work independently
- Visiting a minimum of 40+ accounts weekly (up to 75% of time spent in market)
- Work with retailers/account managers to optimize space on the shelf/cooler
- Forecast and manage inventory levels to ensure alignment with sales programming objectives and demand
- Stay up to date with nicotine and cannabis industry trends, regulations, and market developments
- Flexibility to manage other projects and duties as assigned, including: POS/POCM inventory update, drop-offs, update signage, event/festival assistance and sampling assistance
Education/ Work Experience Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license with reliable automobile transportation.
- College degree preferred but not required
- Maintain an acceptable driving record and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum required by state law and company guidance.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales, trade/customer marketing, or related industry experience
- Attention to detail, organized, and self/time management skills
- Must be able to travel between different company territories
- Knowledge on the Cannabis industry and the 2018 Farm Bill
- Knowledge on the sale and legislation of Nicotine products
- Lifting and moving cases of Beer/THC around occasionally during the day
- Required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds of packaged product (cans and bottles) and occasionally move up to 165 pounds for keg products.
- Able to operate and maneuver a 2-wheeled handcart with product
