We are currently recruiting for a Shipbroker or Sales Manager to join our team.
What will you be doing
As Shipbroker or Sales Manager, you will prepare and negotiate new and existing contracts of affreightment, and fix spot cargoes.
Key responsibilities
- Identifies and negotiates all Spot cargoes as directed by Trading Manager and identifies new COA opportunities and presents same to trading Manager. As well as handle COA negotiations both for new and existing Contracts as directed by Trading Manager.
- Ensures that all relevant internal parties approve and review contracts in accordance with internal check sheet. As well as provide in depth market and competitor analyses analysis as requested.
- Negotiates time charters both in and out as directed by Global Commercial Manager and provide weekly updates of all market movements and fixtures to Global Commercial Director.
- Canvas market on constant basis through interaction with brokers, traders and direct customers.
- Responsible for account and customer management as assigned by the Global Commercial Director, managing relationships with customers and third-party brokers, and ensuring all fixtures have optimal commercial/price (c/p) terms.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned by Management.
- Coordinate the STT/SPT commercial activities with the Regional Offices and attend and contribute to regular KPI meetings.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred.
- Education in maritime specialty is preferred.
- 2-5 years post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Tanker Trading or shipbroker.
- Experience with a Ship Owner or Ship Operator of Stolt Tankers; Tanker trading.
- Displays persistence with strong negotiation skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong commercial orientation
