Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Manager, Controls Execution.

SUMMARY

The Manager, Controls Execution provides leadership and technical support for field service controls engineering activities, including installation, modification, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and startup of gas and steam turbines. This role is responsible for coordinating and scheduling Controls Engineering resources to support outage requirements and contributes to the training and development of current and future controls engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule, coordinate, and assign Controls Engineering resources.

  • Interface with Field Service, LTSA, TGO, and Tomoni Hub for emergent and emergency work scopes, including related tooling and equipment needs.

  • Provide startup, commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting support for equipment failures; determine root cause and implement solutions.

  • Calibrate field devices such as slot assignment verification, outputs, transmitters, failsafe structures, wiring connections, displays, system/loop checks, operational and functional testing, and tuning.

  • Support in-house training programs for Mitsubishi Power control systems.

  • Assure proficiency of Controls Engineering staff by scheduling, coordinating, and assigning training opportunities.

  • Support customer training initiatives and provide training for customer personnel as required.

  • Develop and maintain a Skill Level Matrix Database for engineering staff.

  • Develop and maintain a manpower plan aligned with Mitsubishi Power’s growth and expansion.

  • Assist in the development of the annual service engineering budget.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance for the interpretation and application of Mitsubishi Power drawings, field procedures, quality control, and technical documentation.

  • Support recruiting initiatives to grow the controls engineering team as part of the development program.

  • Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university; or at least five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Effective in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficient in probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle both abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with database systems, project management software, spreadsheets, word processing, email, graphics, technical diagrams, and flowcharts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.

  • Work environment noise level is moderate to loud; hearing protection may be required in certain areas.
