Continuing along it highly successful growth trajectory, SFFedCU is seeking a Vice President of Private Banking for our Golden Gate Branch in San Francisco.
The Position
The Head of Private Banking leads loan production efforts and collaborates with the SFFCU branch network to deliver business lending products to qualified members. This position works directly with the Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, as well as borrowers and brokers, to analyze financial statements, spread tax returns, and assess loan requests.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of banking rules and regulations, demonstrate proficiency in assisting customers with deposit needs, and be familiar with the end-to-end loan production process. Exceptional candidates will have additional knowledge in C&I, SBA, construction lending or other lending disciplines. Excellent communication skills are essential, as this role regularly interacts with business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrated history of achieving production goals in various fields of commercial lending: Stabilized, Bridge, Construction, C&I and SBA
• Solid understanding of Business Deposit Products and matching relationships with appropriate deposit products
• Prepare complete and accurate loan packages, including required collateral documentation, for processing, underwriting and credit administration.
• Conduct customer outreach to identify new business opportunities; actively engage in promoting a sales and service-oriented culture across departments.
• Uphold the values and policies of the organization through consistent, ethical behavior.
• Represent the Credit Union in the community through participation in business or civic organizations.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies to protect member privacy and mitigate risk.
• Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with organizational objectives.
Who Are You?
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in lending, underwriting, or account management within financial services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations abilities; capable of projecting a professional image on on behalf of the Credit Union.
• Thorough understanding of compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices in commercial banking.
• Prior experience in a credit union or community financial institution is a plus.
