About the Job
Under the direction of the IT Director or their designee, employees in this classification are responsible for the estimation, development, implementation, enhancement, maintenance and change control of applications. Employees in this classification provide solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope/complexity. Employees in this classification work under moderate supervision. Moderate latitude for independent judgement and decision making is exercised. Direct instructions are limited to special assignments.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires 2-4 years of related experience OR any combination of education, certification, and experience sufficient to provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OR CERTIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid driver license at the date of hire, and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Driver License within 30 days of hire.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals and Cloud+ Highly is highly desirable.
Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, and Power Platform App Maker Associate is highly desirable.

EXAMINATION STEPS
There will be a pre-screening of all applications.
Responses to the supplemental questionnaire will be individually reviewed and evaluated (weighted 30%).
Top-scoring applicants will be called to an in – person oral panel interview (weighted 70%).These will be tentatively on September 18th, 2025.
All vacancies in this job class will be filled from the ranked Civil Service register established from the examination process for 12 months.
IMPORTANT NOTES
A passing grade of 70.00 or higher is required on all parts of the screening process for placement on the ranked Civil Service eligible register.
The examination process is designed to sample and measure the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Applicants claiming veterans’ preference points in accordance with RCW 41.04.010 as amended and meeting eligibility criteria must submit form DD214, or its equivalent or successor discharge paperwork, that characterizes his or her service as qualifying discharge as defined in RCW 73.04.005.
Extensive background checks will be conducted.
New hires begin employment at the first step of the salary range.
