Position summary: The Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s transportation and logistics processes. This role is accountable for coordinating daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, managing vendor relationships, and innovative solutions.
Essential functions:
- Quote and Route Optimization for timely delivery for domestic and international shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards for both domestic and export.
- Shipment coordination for inbound material shipments, expedited shipments, call tags for returns, CTS for shipment, refusals, and no address labels.
- Critical audit functions on invoices, freight costs, duties and VAT fees for our international warehouses and our carriers (LTL and parcel).
- Accountability for additional administrative functions such as but not limited to research shortage and freight claims, provide proof of deliveries, correct bill of ladings, route customer letters, and track carrier shipments.
- Recommend process improvements, present, and implement for greater efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience:
- Two to five years proven experience in logistics coordination or traffic management
- Thorough understanding of transportation and logistics regulations
- Innovative Problem-solving and concise decision-making abilities
- Positive attitude and highly motivated self-starter
- Strong analytical, organizational, logical, and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, ACE, logistics software, etc.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or experience required
Location: Canton, Ohio
Reports to: Customer Success Manager
Supervises: None
Works with: Suppliers, department supervisors and group leaders, engineering, shipping department, factory floor employees, purchasing department, human resource department and management.
