As an Assistant Controller, you’ll support the Controller and plant leadership by ensuring accurate and timely financials while maintaining strong internal controls. You will be involved in accounts payable and receivable, inventory, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting. This role helps the plant make informed, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually, depending on experience, plus eligibility for monthly performance bonuses.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the Controller in managing daily accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Prepare, review, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Support monthly financial statement processing and plant-level P&L reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
- Ensure all reporting and documentation are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with both plant teams and the corporate office to maintain alignment and compliance.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- 2+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Excel skills; HRMS and SAP proficiency preferred.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong communicator who is comfortable working across teams and in a plant environment.
- Ethical, dependable, and motivated to continuously learn and grow.
What to Expect on the Job
This is a plant-based accounting role where most work is office-based, but you’ll occasionally visit the production floor to support operations and collaborate with the plant staff. You may encounter typical plant conditions including noise, temperature changes, and the need for PPE. The role involves some walking, bending, and occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds, along with managing deadlines, reviewing financial data, and supporting daily accounting operations.
