Department: Kitchen 

Reports To: Executive Chef & Banquet Chef

Working Hours: 4pm to Close - weekends and holidays a must.   

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Type: Full-Time


 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Washes all wares including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.
  • Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
  • Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.
  • Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.  
  • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understand and follow directions.
  • Meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.  
  • Remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
  • Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.  

Education and Experience:

  • Restaurant experience preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (often 8+ hours).
     
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly (e.g., stacks of dishes, pots, or boxes of supplies).
     
  • Reaching and Bending: Frequently required to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch while loading and unloading dishwashing equipment or cleaning areas.
     
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small items and perform tasks that require repetitive hand and arm movements (e.g., scrubbing, rinsing, stacking).
     
  • Pushing and Pulling: Must be able to push/pull dish carts, garbage bins, and supply carts.
     
  • Vision: Ability to identify cleanliness, see hazards, and read basic labels or instructions.
     
  • Hearing and Speaking: Able to hear instructions, safety alarms, and communicate basic needs or information with team members.
