We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees.
Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.
Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director Special Education, assist with screening, assessing, and providing therapy to students with a variety of speech and language disabilities; perform a variety of clerical duties in support of speech and language services Schedule activities, prepare charts and records, prepare teaching aids, perform checks and maintenance of equipment, type, and duplicate material for classroom use, and assist with scheduling (SEE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS).

EXAMINATION: The selection process will consist of an application screening for education, and experience. An oral interview exam (weighted 100%) will be conducted. The date of the oral panel is to be determined. Candidates must achieve a passing score to be placed on the eligibility list for permanent opportunities. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
