Job Summary
The Los Angeles County Office of Education and International Polytechnic High School seeks a well-qualified individual to serve as a dynamic, creative, and team-oriented Graphic Design teacher. Under the supervision and direction of the school site administration, the ideal candidate will work to best prepare students for college and career readiness. International Polytechnic High School provides a college preparatory curriculum within a project-based learning environment. The selected teacher will have skills and experience that engage a diverse student population while embedding a wide array of skills beyond the content area. Students at International Polytechnic are challenged to think globally and act locally while nurturing communication, presentation, and group dynamic skills. Beyond being an expert in the field of graphic design, the ideal candidate will develop and deliver an engaging curriculum in basic design and computer-aided graphic design, fostering students' understanding of design and the visual arts. They create a dynamic learning environment through hands-on activities, while also assessing student progress and providing feedback. Additionally, they stay current with design advancements and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum. Finally, having a background knowledge of the philosophy and practice of project-based learning is encouraged.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Must possess a valid California CTE Credential.
- Experience, knowledge or expertise in teaching Graphic Design.
- English Learners (EL) Certification.
- Aware of current trends in computer technology related to graphic design and ability to implement technology throughout the curriculum.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for lab-based classes.
- Committed to working collaboratively with the Integrated Science team of teachers.
- Ability to teach reading and writing within the context of science.
- Possesses a high regard for teacher and student accountability.
