Reporting Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist
Summary/Objective:
The Reporting QA/QC Specialist role is responsible for supporting Tasman’s Engineering and Consulting teams with analytical data and reporting reviews and QA/QC audits. This role requires a high degree of technical environmental reporting knowledge, regulatory framework experience, accuracy, attention to detail, and communication / teamwork across various work groups within Tasman.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review and perform QA/QC of laboratory analytical data related to environmental media (primarily soil and groundwater) sampling and analysis.
- Review and perform QA/QC of project data, including field notes, data sheets, data tables, and figures developed from laboratory analytical data.
- Using Tasman’s established framework and processes, perform comprehensive final audits on project reports prepared for the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) and other applicable regulatory bodies.
- Assist project teams on related data review and evaluation, reporting, and project tracking.
- Monitor and verify compliance with Tasman’s internal standards as well as client standards and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist in the implementation, tracking, and analysis of compliance programs specifically tailored to the Engineering and Consulting sectors.
- Serve as a liaison across multiple work groups on data and reporting compliance guidelines, requirements, and best practices.
- Document, track, and report on compliance breaches and exposures in reporting operations.
- Assist the Risk team (Compliance and Contracts) with other activities, as needed.
- Serve as a liaison across multiple work groups/teams – Compliance / Risk, Tasman’s individual project work groups, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity with ECMC and other Colorado regulatory agency regulations and operations.
- Environmental consulting / environmental construction compliance experience (or equivalent), Good Documentation Practices (GDocP/GDP), data management, and data QA/QC.
- Excellent technical writing / editing background.
- Strong computer / IT skills, including MS Office suite, Smartsheet, GoFormz, and NetSuite.
- Ability to follow directions and ask questions when unsure.
- Experience working in a dynamic, high-energy, safety-driven culture.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Perform tasks following established procedures and policies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard 40 hour work week.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, QA/QC, or a related field.
0-2 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental construction, compliance, QA/QC, or a related field.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver’s license.
