Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Job Duties
- Complete more complex work orders and Preventative Maintenance at direction of Supervisor or Dispatcher with ability to work with little or no assistance from other staff members if required.
- Ability to coordinate any work using resources available to include staff and contractor resources.
- Able to communicate with customers informing of status of work orders and issues pertaining to their respective departments.
- Complete preventive maintenance procedures accurately and timely according to manufacuturer's guidelines and regulations.
- Have a good knowledge and understanding of mechanical/building systems to ensure ability to resolve issues.
- Focused skills and training in one or multiple trade areas with active pursuit of at least one certification, license, or equivalency (validated years or experience– 5 years continuous work in that area) in either Electrical, Plumbing/Boilers, Mechanical/HVAC/Chilled Water systems, or Life Safety Maintenance.
- Designated coach and mentor for any assigned Mechanic I to ensure proficiency and continuity or staff resources.
- Responsible to work in collaboration with Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for on-call assignments and coordination (vacations, FMLA, etc…).
- Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

- Good written and oral skills.
- Self-starter, motivated to work hard.

- Ability to use email and web-based software
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Demonstrated proficiency at an intermediate level for a specific field of specialty.
- Basic to complex understanding of building systems.
Professional Experience
- 3-5 years' experience
- Experience focused on a trade or skill is preferred
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
- Must have Valid Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain a good driving record, documented at hire, by a copy of a Motor Vehicle Record.
- Journeyman Level skills preferred.
