Inventory Crew (Searsport)

Purpose:

Highly organized, detail oriented, team player wanted!

Our Inventory Team's primary responsibility is maintaining the accuracy of our inventory, but as members of our CREW, are always ready, willing, and able to jump in to help wherever it might be needed. It might be cashing out a customer, grabbing a phone call, or helping direct a customer in the store! You get to do a little bit of everything on our team! Computer experience is a must, boating or hardware experience a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Run inventory backordered reports. 
  • Run Searsport backorder report for standard UPS, Fed-ex Ground and Mail.
  • Run Searsport B/O report for H customers and P/U Orders
  • Look for items that cannot be found on our stores transfer pick lists and store scans.
  • Training and Measurements.
  • Re-bin all of Searsport in the winter.
  • Answer all Team Inv. Emails.
  • Responsible for filling in when other team members are out.
  • Other duties as required/job duties subject to change.

Required Qualifications:

  • Problem solves as part of the inventory team to help correct and prevent inventory issues.
  • Computer experience-  Some experience in Excel/Access.
  • Expert in the picking process and comfortable finding items other employees cannot.
  • Some product knowledge or experience with calling customers.
  • Hard working and passionate about making our processes more effective.
  • Able to train others.
  • A strong desire to provide excellent customer service experience.
  • The ability to maintain a friendly, positive attitude.
  • A great sense of Professionalism and Teamwork.
  • The willingness to learn about Marine, Commercial Fishing and Boat building products.
  • A keen eye for detail and the motivation to work in a fast paced, busy retail/warehouse environment.
  • Other duties within the company as required

Working Conditions:

  • Work is physically strenuous. Workers are typically required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, utilize ladders and/or operate heavy equipment. 
  • Warehouses are often blocked buildings, and some workers must walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day. 
  • Depending on the type of merchandise stored, warehouses are clean, well ventilated, and well lighted. 
  • Inventory workers who work on loading platforms may be exposed to all kinds of weather, and those who work outdoors should wear protective clothing.
  •  To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.
