Summary
The Business / Systems Analyst – Technical Writer / Business Analyst will support the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s (BEP) Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives by bridging business analysis and technical documentation expertise. This role will gather and analyze requirements, document workflows, and prepare clear, accurate technical artifacts in compliance with BEP’s Enterprise Lifecycle (ELC) and federal documentation standards. The position ensures that program deliverables—such as use cases, process maps, and system documentation—are comprehensive, traceable, and aligned with BEP’s automation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for RPA and cognitive automation solutions.
  • Develop ELC-compliant documentation including Project Management Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Security Packages, Interface Control Documents, and user manuals.
  • Create process flow diagrams, system architecture overviews, and detailed functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with developers, cloud engineers, and security specialists to ensure technical documentation accurately reflects system capabilities and design.
  • Support backlog management, prioritization, and tracking of automation use cases.
  • Prepare test documentation (test plans, test cases, UAT results) and ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Maintain and update documentation for operational automations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with BEP standards.
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance in all documentation.
  • Assist with creating training materials and conducting knowledge transfer sessions for BEP staff.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to capture evolving requirements and document updates promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years developing technical requirements and producing technical documentation for cloud-based RPA/AI implementations in the commercial or government sector.
  • Knowledge Areas: Requirements elicitation, technical writing, business process modeling, Agile methodologies, ELC compliance, and federal IT documentation standards.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required by BEP; must meet High Risk position requirements under HSPD-12.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UiPath or other leading RPA platforms.
  • Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office 365).
  • Experience creating process maps using Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements for documentation.
  • Strong editing and quality assurance skills for technical content.

Relevant Tools & Technologies
UiPath Orchestrator, Microsoft Office 365, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, process modeling tools (Visio, Lucidchart), OCR/ICR tools, AI/ML frameworks, REST APIs, SQL databases.
