Want to learn more about the Film Industry in North Carolina and the state's process for recruiting out-of-state productions for filming in NC? The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is actively recruiting for an intern for the NC Film Office!


About the Role

  

To learn more about the Film Industry in North Carolina and the state’s recruitment process of bringing in out-of-state productions for filming within North Carolina. NC Film Office Intern will work closely with the NC Film Office Director (aka State Film Commissioner) and the Film Services Manager to understand the importance of a film commission and the resources commissions have available to productions. Intern will gain an understanding of the various Crew related positions available within the industry. Intern will also gain insight into the importance of film incentives in the recruitment process of projects and the work of government in relation to the film industry as discussed in weekly meetings with Film Office staff. Intern will be directly responsible for updating the state’s various contact lists including but not limited to out of state prospectives, contacts for properties listed in the state’s locations library database, and town/city permit contacts throughout North Carolina, and out-of-state prospectives. Candidate expected to work 15-20 hours/week with part of that time expected to be done in person at the office’s headquarters in downtown Raleigh.


Here is the experience you will gain:

  • Oversee implementation of out-of-state target marketing initiative.
  • Assist  in maintaining the state’s film crew directory, which would include updating entries and reaching out to various individuals about their associated entries and information on file. Contact guild/association members not listed and ask them to register as well as contact members with different information and update appropriate listing.
  • Break down scripts for potential projects.
  • Scouting (visiting and photographing) alongside film office staff, potential new locations to add to the state locations database for future project pitches.
  • Provide a weekly progress report on each project.
  • Assist with locations library contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

What we are looking for: 

  • Currently  pursuing a degree in film, marketing or related
  • High School degree or customer service work experience equivalent
  • Working knowledge of business basics
