Job Summary:
The Human Resource Assistant (HRA) plays a vital role in supporting Pathfinder’s people-first mission. This position ensures smooth HR operations by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and compliance processes while keeping employee records accurate and organized. As a trusted resource for both employees and applicants, the HRA helps create a welcoming and professional experience for all.
As a Human Resource Assistant at Pathfinder, You Will:
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
- Coordinate background checks, references, and pre-employment screenings
- Prepare and distribute onboarding and orientation packets
- Post job opportunities internally and externally, including “hot spot” roles
- Assist in presenting and facilitating new hire orientation
- Track orientation attendance and maintain new hire progress records
Employee & HR Support
- Maintain accurate HR files, records, and compliance documentation
- Respond to employee and applicant questions, escalating as needed
- Enter and update employee data in HRIS (Paylocity)
- Launch personnel documents, corrective actions, and job descriptions
Documentation & Compliance
- Support reporting for staffing, recruitment, and training initiatives
- Maintain and track employee driver’s licenses, certifications, and auto insurance records
- Assist with annual and ongoing background checks
- Provide documentation for audits and ensure HR compliance
Administrative & Departmental Support
- Process HR-related invoices and vendor payments
- Support general HR team projects and initiatives
- Assist with safety, emergency, and administrative procedures
- Participate in HR meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

Requirements
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in human resources or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of one-year human resource experience preferred.
- Experience in customer-service-related field.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Paylocity or other HRIS systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software required.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and plan personal workload effectively.
- Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
