Job Summary:
To serve New Life Church by performing tasks and services that support the daily operations within the HR department with a strong focus on fostering a positive employee experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the HR department in coordinating the various human resources procedures to ensure timely and effective delivery of all HR services and set priorities for meeting deadlines and balancing workload.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of HRIS Paycom processes and implementation of updates within the Paycom database.
- Develop, maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting human resource procedures and those applicable to New Life Church and our ministries.
- Review applications for employee positions, coordinating their processing among the department staff.
- Conduct new employee onboarding and offboarding exit interview process.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to assess department needs, draft detailed and accurate job descriptions, define hiring criteria, and offer support during the hiring process.
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files for employees, and maintain accurate HR information system records, compiling reports as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, providing guidance and support on HR-related issues.
- Assist in developing, documenting, and monitoring appropriate personnel policies and procedures for the church. Maintain employee handbook, onboarding and offboarding documentation, various HR forms, and the NLC organizational chart.
- Must demonstrate awareness and embrace the reality that the Human Resources department is a servant department above all, balancing that role with organizational, legal and ethical requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent grammar, phone etiquette, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other HR databases.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong office and administrative skills; able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable and effective under pressure, within the ability to prioritize and manage shifting responsibilities and deadlines.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information with congregants and fellow staff members.
- Communicate tactfully at all levels, and brings a personable, professional attitude to workplace interactions.
Working Conditions and Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Higher education is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- 3+ years of demonstrated skill and experience in human resources or personnel management.
- SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
