Description

Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Territory Manager are to provide effective leadership, training, motivation, and supervision within their area. The Territory Manager is also responsible for managing their account managers and/or sales consultants to achieve the goals and objectives of the company. The Territory Manager is expected to have excellent working relationships with all store level management personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  • Represent Carolina Premium Beverage in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  • Formulate a plan to increase sales and distribution of all brands consistent with company objectives.
  • Manage account managers and/or sales consultants to achieve company standards in all accounts.
  • Assist in the interview process to select the best candidates for open positions.
  • Key account selling to assigned accounts.
  • Plan and direct sales and merchandising efforts in assigned area to ensure the results are consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Conduct ride-withs to train and develop account managers and/or sales consultants and to look for opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist account managers and/or sales consultant with establishing specific objectives and expectations for each of their accounts. Objectives should be reviewed at least once every month.
  • Help maintain organization and cleanliness of all storage areas in the warehouse.
  • Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager of each account as appropriate
  • Address customer complaints
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Maintain safe driving record and comply with company policy.
  • Confer with DSM to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.
  • Be proficient in all systems related to managing the business
  • Ensure account managers and/or sales consultants adhere to safety policies at all times.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
  • Adhere to dress code and be properly attired with name badge at all times.
  • Obey all Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Diversified duties involving an intensive knowledge of a technical or specialized field within the organization requiring the use of a wide range of procedures. Must apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems. Requires independent thinking and use of judgment to interpret and analyze facts and circumstances surrounding individual problems or transactions, and to determine appropriate action to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practice.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under specific direction where definite goals and objectives are established requiring the use of a wide range of procedures and the employee plans and arranges own work and coordinates work of others, referring only unusual cases to supervisor or others.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS

Probable errors usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department or phase of company activities. Errors could cause some internal confusion and delay or cause customer complaints but could be detected and adjusted with little difficulty. Corrections would involve backchecking by others and would involve some moderate monetary losses. Most work verified or checked by systems and procedures, or supervision.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Involves regular contacts with suppliers, customers, or the public where improper handling may affect results, where tact, judgment and proper behavior are required to avoid friction or dissatisfaction and maintain harmonious relationships but where the primary responsibility rests with the next higher level of supervision.

Work with some confidential data where the effect of any disclosure would probably be negligible or where the full import is not apparent in the routines performed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

 

Immediate supervision over a unit, section, or department where most of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work, eliminating ordinary difficulties, where procedures are standardized. Responsible for supervising more than 2 and less than 10 persons.

ABC Beer Permit

 

Valid drivers license and MVR within CDC/CPB Driving Points Policy.

 

Cicerone Certified Beer Server

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

 

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
