The Opportunity
The Tax Administrator is responsible for assisting the Tax Team in processing tax reports, payments, mail, and returns, maintaining the tax compliance calendar, importing returns and support into document storage, correspondence, and other administrative tax-related duties. Requirements include the ability to work independently, excellent communication and organizational skills.
This role is hybrid based in our Jacksonville office.
What You Will Do
- Sorting, scanning, and distributing incoming mail
- File Annual Reports
- Coordinate obtaining signatures from officers of the company on tax returns and reports
- Mailing tax returns and other filings and correspondence, including certified mail requirements
- Maintain and manage Tax Calendar to ensure all returns are completed within filing deadlines
- Submit tax payments to numerous jurisdictions together with proof of payment for ACH payments
- Provide accounting and treasury with support of all outgoing tax payments and confirmation documentation
- Maintain electronic files of workpapers and filings
- Coordinate/assist with other projects as needed
Requirements
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of administrative experience preferred; significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Law or Accounting Firm / Legal, Accounting or Tax Department Experience a plus
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills exercising discretion and diplomacy in working with others including all levels of management needed; proactive
- Thinker, positive attitude, maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shift priorities as necessary to meet deadline
