Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical patient assessment by attaining medical histories and exam.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic testing. Identify appropriate diagnosis and create a plan of care.
  • Treat minor injuries. Provide immediate triage, evaluation and treatment in response to emergency medical problems.
  • Initiate referrals to other practitioners or admit patients where appropriate.
  • Monitor patient progress, instruct, and counsel patients.
  • May be responsible for managerial duties, such as ordering medical supplies or equipment and supervising medical technicians and assistants.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff.
  • Incorporate quality improvement data and/or patient satisfaction data in clinic goals.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other clinic functions.
  • Attain all agreed goals and objectives within specified time frames.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Competent scope of care including chronic disease management, acute care and procedures.
  • Understand and utilize meaningful use of EMR requirements and documentation.
  • On call responsibilities included for primary care providers.
  • Attend required meetings.


Skills, Education and Experience ARNP:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing and hold current ARNP board certification.
  • Licensed to practice as RN in the state of Iowa.
  • Must be registered under both state and federal Controlled Substances Acts (CSA, DEA)
  • Current BLS certification and utilization of RQI post hire.
  • Clinical competency requirements may vary pending service line
  • Annual Infection Prevention education requirements 

Skills, Education and Experience PA:

  • Completion of accredited, formal physician assistant program.
  • Maintain certification from National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Must be registered under both state and federal Controlled Substances Acts (CSA, DEA)
  • Current BLS certification and utilization of RQI post hire.
  • Licensed to work in the state of Iowa.
  • Clinical competency requirements may vary pending service line
  • Annual Infection Prevention education requirements as designated
