Position Overview:
The Corporate Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving corporate group revenue and market share through strategic sales initiatives, targeted prospecting, and meaningful relationship building. This role is dedicated to identifying, soliciting, and securing corporate meetings, conferences, and business events that align with The Dewberry’s Southern Reimagined brand of hospitality. By delivering tailored proposals, negotiating contracts, and collaborating seamlessly with internal teams, the Corporate Group Sales Manager maximizes revenue opportunities while ensuring every corporate program is executed to the highest standards of luxury and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for corporate group room revenue and banquet/catering revenue, contributing to the hotel’s overall revenue objectives.
- Monitor booking pace, analyze group revenue performance, and align sales efforts with the hotel’s budget, forecast, and market positioning strateg
- Drive business development initiatives by proactively identifying new opportunities, cultivating high-value partnerships, and expanding the client base to generate sustained revenue growth.
- Solicit new corporate group business through strategic prospecting, client outreach, sales calls, networking, and participation in luxury industry events.
- Manage and grow assigned corporate market segments with a focus on long-term relationship management and repeat business.
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and manage the full sales cycle — from lead qualification to contract execution — in accordance with brand service standards (MCA training a plus).
- Conduct curated on-site tours and presentations to showcase the hotel’s unique offerings, luxury amenities, and guest experience.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, client events, and FAM trips to strengthen brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
- Develop and execute strategic action plans to penetrate new accounts and re-engage lapsed or inactive clients.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, and forecasts in TripleSeat or related platforms.
- Partner cross-functionally with Events, Revenue, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of contracted business and to deliver exceptional, Forbes-level guest experiences.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor strategies, and industry demand patterns to proactively adjust sales approaches.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates, third-party partners, and vendors to uphold the hotel’s reputation for service excellence.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the local and global corporate meetings market, including competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and market dynamics.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships with discretion, professionalism, and a luxury service mindset, escalating issues to leadership as needed.
- Consistently uphold brand standards and represent the hotel with the highest level of professionalism and polish.
- Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned by sales leadership in support of overall departmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience with a focus on corporate and group business, supported by an established client base/book of business.
- Prior experience or training within a Forbes Five-Star or luxury hotel environment strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with sales/event management platforms (e.g., TripleSeat) and hotel management systems (HMS) preferred, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships at the luxury level.
- Professional demeanor, polished appearance, and presence that reflects and represents our luxury brand standards.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
Work Environment
- Based on-site at The Dewberry in Charleston, SC.
- Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, with flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on business needs.
