We are seeking an individual who is passionate about joining a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.
The Printer Windup B Operator will perform various duties to assist in the physical changeover and startup of both printers between lots, minimizing downtime while maintaining a quality product. This position will also be responsible for performing various duties to assist in the operation of the printers during production.
- Understand and utilize printer safety equipment and procedures
- Know and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) & Safe operation of all required material handling equipment
- Understand RCRA and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) labeling and “Right to Know” requirements
- Know all printer emergency procedures
- Have a working knowledge of the production scheduling system and special instructions noted on production schedules
- Understand and utilize all procedures necessary to perform the following duties:
- Pre-stage rolls for both printers according to the production schedule
- Change print rolls and inks during changeover
- Assist with cleanup after production runs
- Assist Printer Crew Leader in attaching print rolls when necessary
- Operate ink pumps and know their general maintenance requirements.
- Box print rolls that need to be sent out for repair &Unbox and place in storage racks, according to inventory system, rolls received from vendor
- Assist in the startup, lineout, strike off, shutdown and control of the printer during production
- Package finished rolls as necessary according to production schedule
- Work with scheduling and supervision to optimize quality and output
- Understand the quality system and all quality procedures relevant to this position
- As the Wind Up, assist Printer Crew Leader in completion of printer logs, reports, records and all necessary paperwork
- Report any and all quality or task difficulties beyond the crew’s capability to Crew Leader, Supervisor or appropriate personnel
- Available to work OT as needed
- Perform any additional duties as requested to meet business or production conditions or changes
Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
Work Environment and Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed
- Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.
- Ability to detect, distinguish, or determine the source of a smell
- Exposure or works around chemical processing, unregulated temperature, dusty conditions
