• Plan and execute laboratory-based projects to meet specific goals and objectives
• Work independently on projects while relying upon available resources
• Develop a technical understanding of the project by effectively working with the project team, using online resources, and internal experts
• Report frequently on progress using established communication protocols
• Prepare, submit, and present a final project report at the end of the internship.

• Candidates must maintain a 3.0 or higher overall GPA
• Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Candidates must have completed or be working towards completion of their sophomore year and be in good academic standing
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

The successful student will be an analytical problem solver, have an extremely high level of customer focus and a passion for process improvement. In addition, a successful intern will have the following qualifications:
• Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in the area of study
• Strong record of leadership in team settings including academic project teams and extracurricular activities
• Aptitude for problem solving using a data driven approach
• Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to apply engineering, scientific principles, and the DMAIC process
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a diverse staff of individuals
• Must be resourceful, responsible, tenacious, curious, independent, confident and high energy
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
