Position Summary: The Coordinator, K-12 Outreach & Marketing is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strategic relationships with K-12 schools to build awareness about the Detroit Promise and assist students with navigating the college going process. In partnership with other staff, you will work together to meet outreach goals increasing the number of students that access the scholarship. Your role will include being in the field, travel to Detroit K-12 schools, and occasionally engaging with community-based organizations across the City of Detroit.
Additionally, this position supports the K-12 outreach team with various marketing and communications needs by developing promotional content, managing outreach campaigns, and ensuring consistent messaging across platforms. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator with a passion for education and a talent for building meaningful connections that enhance visibility and impact.

Who Are You? We are seeking a candidate with a personable demeanor, who can interact with and provide exceptional customer service to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and maintain multiple relationships while managing multiple projects. Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written, as well as excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills are essential.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher
- Minimum one year of experience in advising students in communities that serve large numbers of first-generation collegegoers
- Experience in communications planning and an understanding of college access including assisting students through post-secondary transition
- Valid MI driver's license and access to reliable transportation for traveling outside of the office
- May be subject to background checks/screenings by the schools

- An intrinsic commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Availability for nights and weekend programming as needed
- Bilingual (Spanish/Arabic/Bengali speaking preferred)
A day in the life of Coordinator, K-12 Outreach & Marketing:
You'll coordinate outreach in designated Detroit K-12 schools for all aspects of the Detroit Promise. While working as part of the marketing team, you'll develop and implement a communications strategy for communicating with various Detroit Promise audiences. With other team members, develop and maintain relevant strategies to support more students in pursuing college.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position that typically works Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Travel throughout Southeastern Michigan is required, with opportunities for remote work.
