About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products.  The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

 

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

A Cleaveland Price Senior Maintenance Technician will be in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs in all buildings and on facility equipment and fixtures.  Examples of duties include framing, drywall, minor electrical, plumbing of all types, minor HVAC upkeep, painting, assembling of furniture, office remodeling, outdoor repairs, inspecting the building to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs when necessary.  

Work may be conducted indoors or outdoors, at varying heights and depths, and may require the use of ladders, fork trucks, man lifts, and other maintenance equipment

 

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Execute a wide range of assigned tasks related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, and other construction or maintenance responsibilities. This includes repairing and maintaining building fixtures.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out accurately, safely, and within specified timeframes. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and potential impact on operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges and provide guidance (when applicable) on repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities using our online ticketing system, including work completed, parts used, and any potential issues identified. Prepare regular reports on maintenance operations and equipment status.

 

  • Ensure that all work practices are fully compliant with OSHA and ISO standards, adhering to relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Utilization of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and task-specific tools and equipment by the maintenance team. This includes conducting regular safety equipment checks.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Ensure organization of tools, equipment, and materials in designated storage areas. Establish maintenance work areas are well-organized and safe for all employees.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized maintenance or repair tasks. Ensure that vendors meet the company's standards and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor the inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure the availability of critical components for repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks within and around the facility to ensure the ongoing operation of equipment and systems.
  • Continuously identify and address safety hazards to maintain a secure work environment. Proactively take measures to prevent accidents and incidents.

 

Qualifications


Your Background

  • General knowledge of manufacturing environment hazards/MSDS.
  • Proficient knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Ability to identify issues and potential hazards to help determine what repairs are needed.
  • Basic computer skills; e-mail, internet searches and order placement
  • Problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while recognizing emergencies.
  • Delegation and teaching skills are a plus.

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Medium work.  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25lbs. of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects that are 10lbs.
  • Traversing the entire facility. Ascending and descending a ladder.  Potentially moving through crawl spaces. Bending at floor level and reaching above head repeatedly. 
  • Exposure to piant fumes and/or debris from contruction likely.
  • Requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort while multi-tasking in a team environment.
  • Ability to wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the shop floor or in other work area where mandated (i.e. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and/or other applicable PPE).
