Mardel Christian & Education is the only brick and mortar national Christian bookstore. Our Mission: To equip the whole person by being a resource center that provides for spiritual and intellectual needs. Providing a large selection of faith-based products is just the start. No matter where the classroom is, we support our teachers with a wide selection of classroom supplies and homeschool curriculum. Our 40 stores are supported by the Mardel Corporate offices and warehouse located in Oklahoma City. Mardel offers home décor, apparel, music and gifts to fit any season making us your one stop shop!

Full-time Mardel Buyer Administrative Assistants enjoy:
  • Starting wage of $19.25 an hour
  • Monday through Friday work week
  • In-Office hours of 8-5 every day

As a growing company, this position offers room for growth. Buyer Administrative Assistants collaborate with other admins, buyers and vendors to procure the desired product selection to meet the needs of Mardel’s customers.

Responsibilities
  • Place and process purchase orders
  • Communicate with international and domestic vendors
  • Communicate with other departments 
  • Track domestic and international shipments
  • Review and proof product packaging
  • Generate reports 
  • Provide scheduling assistance
  • Process documentation
  • Labeling and maintaining merchandise samples
  • Vet incoming calls for buyers
  • Execute other administrative duties

Job Description - Requirements

  • Love working in a fast-paced environment

  • Possess a genuine desire to meet the needs of others, being empathetic and patient
  • Can follow established filing methods, such as content, purpose, user criteria, chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order for physical and electronic filing
  • Actively listen and respond to needs quickly, using problem-solving skills
  • Understand the importance of deadlines but can pivot quickly 
  • Microsoft Office experience with the following programs:
    • Microsoft Excel abilities matching the description found at the Excel Website
    • Microsoft Word experience mirroring the description at the Word Website 
    • Microsoft Outlook skillset in keeping with the description at the Outlook Website
  • Able to use office equipment such as printer/copier/scanning machines and multi-line phones 
  • Math Skills
    • Understand the basic math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Must have an accurate and minimum data entry speed of 17 words per minute
  • Clearly expresses thoughts in written and spoken form.
Education & Experience
  • Combination of 2 + years’ work experience or education in related field
