Position Summary:
Windsor Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, organized, and service-driven Administrative and Communications Coordinator to support the Office of Family and Community Partnerships. This multifaceted role combines high-level administrative support, strategic communications, and community-focused coordination of the Windsor Mobile Classroom — a key district initiative designed to bring learning directly into our neighborhoods.
This individual will serve as a connector between schools, families, and the broader Windsor community, ensuring that communication flows effectively, engagement opportunities are accessible, and the district’s innovative outreach efforts are coordinated and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Support to the Office of Family and Community Partnerships
Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Director.
Manage scheduling, event logistics, documentation, and reporting for family engagement programs.
Serve as the first point of contact for families seeking support or information.
Maintain records, calendars, and data related to community partnership initiatives.
2. Mobile Classroom Scheduling & Coordination
Manage scheduling, promotion, and logistics of the Windsor Mobile Classroom, a mobile hub for family learning, academic support, and resource distribution.
Coordinate with schools, neighborhood liaisons, and district staff to ensure equitable access and high participation.
Support the planning and execution of mobile classroom sessions, including family-facing learning events, tutoring programs, and community resource fairs.
Track and report on usage data, attendance, and feedback to drive improvement.
3. Communications & Engagement
Draft, edit, and disseminate family-centered communications through newsletters, flyers, social media, and the district website.
Collaborate with the Superintendent's Office to ensure alignment with district branding and messaging.
Amplify school events, programs, and achievements through engaging visual and written content.
Attend and cover evening/weekend events to capture photos, stories, and highlights for publication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, education, social work, or a related field.
Bilingual (preferred, not required).
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and integrity.
Experience working with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
Proficiency with communication platforms (Canva, Mailchimp, social media tools, Google Suite, etc.).
Availability to work evenings and weekends to support district-wide family events and mobile classroom sessions.
Proficiency with photography and videography equipment with photo and video editing experience preferred.
