Senior Associate, Accounting

PURPOSE

  • The Senior Associate, Accounting will assist in the preparation of the company’s financial statements and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards. Supports Senior Accounting Manager to drive all formal financial reporting functions, including financial accounting and month-end close, supported with internal controls to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –  

 

  • Perform monthly closing procedures and balance sheet accounts, as assigned. This includes performing and/or reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries. 
  • Determine the adequacy of balance sheet deferrals and accruals.
  • Coordinate with External and Internal Auditors for quarterly and annual audit.
  • Assist with preparation of IFRS financial statements and notes.
  • Performing the assessments of internal control effectiveness for financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with plants on production reporting, Cost Accounting and inventory valuation, including driving projects associated with process improvement.
  • Review of fixed assets to ensure the company procedures are followed and depreciation is performed timely.
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special assignments, as needed.
  • Perform timely reconciliation and review of lease accounting.
  • Run Material Ledger to build proper amount of COGS and moving average inventory costs.

 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES -    

 

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in accounting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA recommended.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • SOX compliance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, corporate policies and compliance.
  • Must be an analytical and critical thinker with the ability to dig deep into the details but present high-level findings to management.
  • Detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Be proactive and a self-motivator with the ability to learn quickly.
