The Nevada Supreme Court’s Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a Court Liaison to serve as a vital connection between the AOC and Nevada’s trial courts—district, justice, and municipal—across both rural and urban jurisdictions. This position plays a key role in supporting Nevada’s judiciary by providing resources, training, and operational assistance to enhance court services and promote access to justice statewide.

The Court Liaison will assess court needs, identify training and resource gaps, develop and deliver targeted educational programs, and share innovative practices from across the nation. This position will also collaborate with court leaders and staff to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas. Statewide travel, including throughout rural Nevada, is required. 

After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Statewide Court Support and Coordination

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the AOC and trial courts, with a focus on rural and remote jurisdictions.

  • Conduct regular outreach and site visits to assess operations and identify resource needs.

  • Facilitate collaboration among courts to promote consistency, peer learning, and best practices.

Training Needs Assessment and Program Development

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training priorities for court clerks, staff, and judicial officers.

  • Develop and coordinate in-person and virtual training programs tailored to identified needs.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust content for continued relevance.

Resource Gap Identification and Problem-Solving

  • Identify and prioritize needs for staffing, technology, and operational tools.

  • Collaborate with courts and AOC leadership to develop and implement solutions.

  • Provide guidance on policy, procedure, and technology integration.

Monitoring National Trends and Best Practices

  • Track emerging best practices in court operations, clerk functions, and rural court administration.

  • Assess feasibility for implementation in Nevada and recommend adaptations.

  • Share findings and facilitate pilot programs as appropriate.

Representation and Collaboration

  • Represent Nevada’s judiciary on committees, at conferences, and in working groups at the state and national levels.

  • Build and maintain partnerships with justice system stakeholders, community organizations, and other court systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or working within Nevada’s trial courts, with an understanding of rural court and “legal desert” challenges.

  • Proven ability to assess operational, training, and resource needs and implement effective solutions.

  • Experience in curriculum development, training delivery, and facilitation for judicial or legal audiences.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Nevada, including to rural and remote areas.

Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee’s household.
