VNA is dedicated to providing the highest quality health care to residents of the Central Coast. VNA Hospice involves a clinical, team-driven approach to treating the whole patient, including expert in-home medical care, pain management, emotional and spiritual support, and comfort care expressly tailored to meet the needs of individual patients and families facing end-of-life illnesses.
The On-Call RN is responsible for triaging after-hours patient care calls for both the Hospice and Home Health programs. This role involves conducting skilled nursing visits as needed, based on the clinical and/or psychosocial needs of the patients and families.
The On-Call RN will:
- Perform initial assessments of patients needs via telephone
- Evaluate the psychosocial needs of patients and their families
- Communicate with the patient's physician when necessary
- Provide in-person skilled nursing visits when appropriate, in response to clinical and/or psychosocial concerns
Status: Full-time
Shift: Friday - Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:00am (1 week on, 2 weeks off)

Education/Experience/Qualifications: Two years of experience as a professional nurse in a medical‑surgical facility within the last three years or one year of recent hospice experience required. Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Must live in Central Monterey County location to ensure timely visit to all patients on service.
