Component Operator, East Providence, RI
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Component Operator will be responsible for running a mechanical press to process raw materials into sub-components.
Expected Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the manufacturing of capacitor components.
- Safely operate production machinery and equipment including press machines according to established procedures.
- Read and follow drawings, blueprints, specifications, etc.
- Load materials and ensure proper alignment and positioning prior to machining.
- Adjust parameters to meet product specifications.
- Perform in-process quality checks, including but not limited to measuring thickness, weight, and surface quality.
- Handle fragile materials with care to avoid contamination or damage.
- Clean and maintain machinery and work area to comply with cleanliness and safety standards.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies to supervisors, Quality or Engineering.
- Work closely with Production Supervisor, technicians, operators, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure work is completed to quality standards, following written procedures, and prioritized based on customer demand.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate and input data into production systems to track progress, document results, and communicate effectively with the team.
- Operate measurement devices such as calipers and gauges to measure products and ensure they meet company standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following company and industry procedures and standards.

Criteria For Success
- Must be considered a U.S. Persons eligible to work in the United States
- High School Diploma – Required
- Ability to read and write in English.
- 1 year manufacturing experience preferred
- Possess a collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems a plus
- Willing and able to learn other applications as needed.
- Ability to keep workspace clean and adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and quotas
- Time management, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- General office and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
- This position requires working near electrical and mechanical equipment that could potentially interfere with pacemaker function.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 Pounds
- Capability to use a hand truck and other assistive devices for items over 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and sitting.
- Walking to various stations or areas of the production floor.
- Must have good finger & hand strength/dexterity.
- Repetitive movements.
- Prolonged standing on hard surfaces during shift.
- Sitting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling motions
- Upper body range of motion – twisting, lifting, pulling
- Ability to handle small tools, parts, and machinery with precision.
- Visual acuity for reading measurements, assembly instructions, and monitoring equipment.
- Hearing ability to detect alarms, machinery sounds, or verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
- Will be required to wear appropriate PPE as outlined by company safety protocols such as nitrile gloves, and safety glasses.
