PAY: for the 2025-26 school year ranges from $47,500 to $91,308; placement is dependent on verifiable experience and education level; we also pay your PERS retirement contribution
This position is subject to a funded budget based on staffing needs. Specific assignments are subject to change.
Sublimity School is excited to welcome a new teacher to our team beginning the 2025-26 school year! It is our mission to help students reach their full potential and develop into productive citizens. We seek a full-time middle school teacher to join our collaborative and diverse team. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, positive, and passionate about their field. This position will primarily teach English Language Arts, but could also teach other subjects depending upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Sublimity Elementary is a unique K-8 school located approximately 20 minutes east of Salem, Oregon. While our students often perform well on standardized tests and other academic measurements, our primary goal is to help them perform well in life. We are fortunate to have the support of a very involved community, which is often reflected by the involvement and financial support provided by our PTC. Our staff believes in setting high expectations for students, taking time to create intentional relationships within our community, and mentoring each other. We offer peer leadership opportunities, parent/family support, involvement, and experienced administration. Sublimity School is an AVID school, and we pride ourselves on having high-level instruction and rigor in every classroom.
Essential Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position.
· Minimum Bachelor's Degree and a current valid Oregon Teaching License and certification for teaching at the middle school level
· Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, improve classroom instruction, and to qualify for license renewal by following both state and district regulations
· Ability to maintain the strength of knowledge and practice in instructional skills and strategies
· Ability to demonstrate standards of moral character and behavior and to serve as an effective role model for students
· Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, teachers, and community
· Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and/or parent information
· Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
· Ability to work effectively in an environment that can be physically and emotionally fatiguing
· Perform physical requirements related to classroom teaching and supervision
· Such alternatives to the above requirements as the School Board or the Administration may deem appropriate and acceptable
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
1. Demonstrate knowledge about at-risk students and intervention strategies for working with at-risk/low-achieving students
2. Plan and implement a program of study that follows state and district goals/curriculum and reasonably meets students' individual needs and development
3. Employ effective diagnostic and prescriptive procedures for identifying students at or below grade level, and analyze test data to determine academic growth
4. Demonstrate knowledge of learning modalities and self-concept factors that affect student learning
5. Guide the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects, and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students
6. Possess a wide range of knowledge about children and young adult literature and methods for teaching reading and language
7. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and attendance
8. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning with the resources provided by the District
9. Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills
10. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of students
11. Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and maintain such records as required by law, District policy, and grant compliance
12. Assist the administration in implementing District policies and rules, grant requirements, and school improvement efforts
13. Satisfactorily perform teaching responsibilities and continually evaluate and reappraise professional performance using District guidelines
14. Assume the responsibility for seeking help and advice, and take full responsibility for demonstrating professional growth and needed improvement
15. Serve as a role model to students in the areas of appearance, actions, behaviors, and interpersonal interactions with peers
16. Take reasonable precautions to provide for the health and safety of the students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities
17. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations
18. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning District curriculum and instructional methods, goals, and objectives
19. Direct and assign activities of assigned instructional assistants, volunteers, and other para-professionals
20. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues
21. Attend meetings and serve on committees as directed
22. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, parents, and staff
23. Act as a friendly ambassador of the North Santiam School District
24. Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem to be appropriate to the Board or Administration
