Position Description

The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program to begin September 2025. The appointment's primary role is teaching and assessing clinical skills in intravenous medication administration. The selected candidate will develop appropriate course content, instruct Master of Athletic Training students, grade assignments, and coordinate laboratory sessions in Lubbock, Texas. The adjunct faculty member may work collaboratively with faculty from the Master of Athletic Training (MAT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTDP), Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences (ScD RS), and Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science (PhD) within the department as well as with other departments within the School and University. The successful candidate will join one of the oldest entry-level masters in athletic training programs of its kind and will contribute to the university's mission through teaching, research, and service, with some variation by academic unit. Must reside in Lubbock, Texas.

Major/Essential Functions

Teach courses in the Master of Athletic Training Program and potentially in other programs in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. This will include responsibilities in Lubbock, Texas, to provide face-to-face instruction and course coordination.

  • Licensed Athletic Trainer or other health professional.
  • At least 10 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Previous teaching experience in a healthcare program.
